Why Are My Apps Not Syncing Between iPhone and iPad [Answer & Fix]

I recently installed a new iPhone and synchronized the data with my existing iPad. After that, all custom apps on the iPad were installed on the iPhone. I then installed a new app on the iPad and backed up the device. the iPhone is configured to sync apps, but the new app does not appear. Am I missing something?

The reasons why your apps are not syncing between iPad and iPhone can be:

  • Different Apple ID: You are using different Apple IDs on both devices. Go to "Settings" > [Your Profile]. Check if you have signed in with the same Apple ID.
  • Disabled App Downloads: You have disabled the automatic download on your iPad or iPhone. Go to "Settings" > [Your Profile] > "iTunes & App Store" > toggle on "App Downloads".
  • Full iCloud storage: There is no free storage space on your iCloud. Go to "Settings" > [Your Profile] > " iCloud" > " Manage Account Storage". You can delete some files and data or upgrade your subscription plan.
  • Network error: Unstable network connection causes sync delay. Go to "Settings" > "WLAN" > "Apps Using WLAN & Cellular". Ensure both your iPhone and iPad have a stable internet connection.
  • Outdated iOS version: Your devices are running an old iOS version. Go to "Settings" > "General" > "Software Update". Ensure both your iPhone and iPad have updated to the latest iOS version.
  • Incorrect date and time settings: You don't make the date and time on your iPad and iPhone auto-set and use a different time zone. Go to "Settings" > "General" > "Date & Time" > toggle on "Set Automatically".
  • Restriction settings: You have enabled app restrictions on one device, preventing the sync process. Go to "Settings" > "Screen Time" > "Content & Privacy Restrictions" and check for restrictions affecting the app syncing process.
