Is it better to setup as new iPhone or restore from backup?

Personally, I prefer to set everything up from fresh. To do this, I redownload all of the apps and modify the iPhone's settings. Should I set it up as new iPhone or restore from backup?

Based on some conditions, my preferred suggestion is to set up your iPhone as a new one and selectively restore it from backup. The reason is that Both solutions have their own set of advantages and disadvantages.

If you set up your iPhone as a new iPhone, there will be no previous data on it. You can have a brand new experience on your iPhone. However, you will not keep some important data, like contacts and messages. This will cause some trouble in your life. So, It is recommended to selectively restore useful data to your iPhone.

Here is how you can restore your iPhone from iCloud backup.

Step 1. Go to the Apps & Data screen in the setup process.

Step 2. Click the 'Restore from iCloud Backup' option.

Step 3. Sign in to your Apple ID and choose the data type to restore.

Step 4. Follow the instructions to restore your iPhone.

This will restore your data on your new iPhone. In addition to iCloud and iTunes. There is a software called EaseUS MobiMover that allows you to restore your iPhone from a backup after setup.
