I want to transfer data (1 TB) from my old iPhone to my new iPhone. But I'm not sure whether I choose to restore from iCloud backup or just transfer data from iPhone to iPhone using a third-party tool. What are the pros and cons of each method? Which method is faster to transfer iPhone data?
Restore from iCloud vs Direct transfer from iPhone to iPhone:
Criteria | Restore from iCloud | iPhone to iPhone Transfer |
1️⃣Data Selectivity | Limited | High |
2️⃣One-click Transfer | Yes | Yes |
3️⃣Time Required | 20-40 mins | 15 mins |
4️⃣Internet Connection Required | Yes | No |
5️⃣Need for Tool | iCloud | EaseUS MobiMover |
In summary, if you prioritize convenience and ease of use, and have a recent iCloud backup available, using the "Restore from iCloud Backup" option is recommended. If you want more control over the transfer process, the ability to selectively transfer data, and shorten the transfer time, using an iPhone to iPhone transfer tool using comfuter without iCloud is recommended, which does not require a Wi-Fi connection.
Step 1. Connect both of the iPhones to the computer and launch EaseUS MobiMover. Then click "Phone to Phone", check the transfer direction, and click "Next" to continue.
Step 2. Select one data type or multiple categories that you want to copy, and click "Transfer".
Step 3. Wait fro the process to complete. When the process finishes, check all the files on your new iPhone.
