Apple normally secures our iOS devices by demanding a password. If you don't remember the unlock code, then you will be completely locked out of your device. Bypassing the locked device and getting back in your device is not easy. But that doesn't mean impossible. Actually, you still have the chance to make your iPod usable again, as long as you're willing to give up on the data stored on your iPod. If you do, just follow the instructions below to unlock iPod.

If you've ever backed your iPod to iTunes, then you can restore your iPod from iTunes to get back in it. This method won't cause data loss. Here are the steps.
Step 1. Open iTunes and select your iPod at the top of the screen. If you've never synced your iPod with iTunes before, see the Recovery Mode below.
Step 2. Create a backup by clicking "Back Up Now" or directly export iPod, iPhone, or iPad data to the computer.
Step 3. Click "Restore iPod" to start resetting. This will take several minutes to complete.
Step 4. Once the reset process is complete, you can set up your iPod as new. During the setup process, you can select "Restore from iTunes backup" to restore all of your data.
If the "Find My [device]" feature has been enabled on your iPod, then you can go to the iCloud website, log in with your Apple ID and password, and use the "Erase the [device]" option to remotely remove your iPod's lock screen. Note that this only works if your iPod is connected to a wireless network.
Step 1. Visit icloud.com on a computer or device. Or you can also use the "Find My" app on another iOS device.
Step 2. Log in with your Apple ID ( make sure you log in with the same Apple ID with your iPod)
Step 3. Click on the "All Devices" at the top of the window, that will display all of your Apple devices that are connected with this Apple ID. Just select your iPod from the list.
Step 4. Click the "Erase" button and confirm. This will take a little while to complete.
Step 5. After that, you can set up your iPod as new.
If neither iTunes nor iCloud helps you out, then you can unlock your iPod by putting it in Recovery Mode. This method will cause data loss if you've never created a backup before.
Step 1. Turn your iPod off completely by pressing and holding the Power button and swipe the Power slider from left to right.
Step 2. Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes. If you don't have one, then you can download it from apple.com/itunes/download.
Step 3. Press and hold the Power and Home buttons until you see the Apple logo on your iPod's screen.
Step 4. Click the "Restore" on the iTunes screen. This process will take a few minutes. Once it is complete, you can set up your iPod as new.
If Recovery Mode doesn't work, you can try to get back in your iPod via DFU mode, similar to Recovery Mode. Also, this method will cause data loss.
Step 1. Completely turn your iPod off.
Step 2. Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes.
Step 3. Press and hold your Power button for three seconds.
Step 4. Continue holding the Power button and start holding the Home button.
Step 5. Hold both buttons for ten seconds and then release the Power button. Don't let the Home button go.
Step 6. Continue holding the Home button for another ten seconds. Your iPod screen will then turn black and iTunes will report that it has detected your iPod in Recovery Mode. At this time, release the Home button.
Step 7. Click "Restore" to start restoring. Thus, your iPod will be taken to its original state, and you can set it up as new.
We hope that all of the above-introduced methods can help you address the "forgot iPod passcode" issue. Actually, apart from that, you can also ask Apple technicians for help, as long as you can answer the security questions correctly.
