Can you find a Wi-Fi password on your phone when connected? Of course, you can. But depending on the phone you use, the workable ways vary. Generally, it's easy to find a Wi-Fi password on Android. While if you are an iPhone user, the ways to get a Wi-Fi password are relatively more complex.
On an Android phone, you can show the Wi-Fi password when connected using two ways, decided by the phone you have in hand. Check these two methods below in detail and apply either of them to see the Wi-Fi password on your phone.
For you who use Android 10 or later, you can go to find the Wi-Fi password when connected via Settings.
Step 1. Go to the Settings app and tap "Network & Internet."
Step 2. Tap "Wi-Fi" and then click the network you currently connect to.
Step 3. Tap the icon next to the Wi-Fi network and click "Share."
Step 4. Verify your identity as required.
Step 5. Then you will see the Wi-Fi password of the connect network on your phone under the QR code.
In most cases, if you want to share the Wi-Fi password with another device, you can use an app on the target phone to scan the QR code to get it done.
While on other Android devices, the way to show the Wi-Fi password of a connected network slightly varies.
Step 1. Go to the Settings app and click "WLAN."
Step 2. Tap the Network you use right now and then you will see a QR code generated.
Step 3. Now you can use any app that has the QR code scanning feature to scan the code. You can do it either with your own phone or another phone. If you prefer to use your own device, you need to take a screenshot of the QR code and then scan the picture.
As for iPhone users, Apple doesn't provide a direct way for you to show the typed Wi-Fi password on your iPhone directly. You have to use workarounds to get your needs met. (If you want to find the Wi-Fi password on your iPhone in order to share it with another iDevice, you can do it directly without checking the password in detail. Go to the guide on how to share a Wi-Fi password on an iPhone for more information.)
Whether you are using an iPhone or Android, you can get a Wi-Fi password by checking the basic settings of your router. Here are the details.
Step 1. Go to the Settings app and tap "Wi-Fi."
Step 2. Click the information icon next to the network you have connected to.
Step 3. Tap and hold the numbers next to the "Router" and tap "Copy."
Step 4. Open a browser on your iPhone and visit the IP address of your router (the numbers).
Step 5. If you see a warning sees "Your connection is not private," click "Advanced" below and choose "Proceed to [IP Address]."
Step 6. Sign in with your router's username and password. (You can find them on your router or in its manual.)
Step 7. From the list on the left side, click "Wireless" and then you will see your Wi-Fi password under "Wireless Settings." (If there is no such an option, you can try other buttons to check the basic settings of your router.)
You need to know the router's username and password to apply the first method. If the way above is not suitable for your situation, you can use an iPhone unlocker like EaseUS MobiUnlock to check all saved Wi-Fi passwords on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Whether you want to check the Wi-Fi password of the network you are using or you saved before, it will help.
Other than Wi-Fi passwords, the iOS password manager in EaseUS MobiUnlock will find app passwords, website passwords, and mail passwords. When you want to find all saved passwords on an iPhone, it is helpful, too. Moreover, there are iPhone unlocking features that are quite useful to solve problems like "iPhone is disabled," "forgot iPhone passcode," and "iPhone locked forever." In a word, EaseUS MobiUnlock is an iOS toolbox that will fix iPhone-related issues in various situations. Don't hesitate to give it a try.
To find Wi-Fi passwords on iPhone:
Step 1. Connect the device to your PC, launch EaseUS MobiUnlock, then click "iOS Password Manager" from the main interface.
Step 2. Trust the computer on your iPhone/iPad and make sure the device is recognized successfully. Afterward, click "Scan Now" and wait for the password manager to find all saved passwords on the iPhone or iPad.
Step 3. Select "Wi-Fi Account" from the left pane and then you will see all Wi-Fi networks and passwords you have used before. Click the "Show/Hide" icon next to "Password" to view passwords in detail. Or click "Export" to export Wi-Fi passwords from the iDevice.
Step 4. If you click "Export," you need to further select the format you need. Here you can select a format that is compatible with popular password managers like 1Password or normal CSV format.
For Android users, it's quite straightforward to find the Wi-Fi password when connected to a network. While for iPhone users, although it's easy to share a Wi-Fi password from an iPhone to another, you can't actually see the typed password in detail. Thus, you need the help of another app or program. With the password found, you can now share it with any other device freely.
