Many users have found that cellular data not working on iPhone and iPad iOS 11 (check for iOS 11specific features if you need). And the problems can present in these ways: the iPhone or iPad can't transmit any data or access to the internet when connected to a cellular network, or some apps can't connect to the cellular data or the Cellular Data button is grayed out and can't be toggled on. How to fix iOS 11 cellular data not working on iPhone and iPad 

1. Make sure the Cellular Data is enabled

This method may sound useless and comical, but double-check the general settings of Cellular Data in iOS 11 is necessary before you go further.

Go to "Settings" >"Cellular" > toggle the "Cellular Data" on.

2. Make sure enable Cellular Data for certain apps

For some users who can't use the cellular data for certain apps, they must haven't turned on the cellular data for specific apps. The apps may work when your iPhone/iPad is connected to the internet with Wi-Fi but unable to access mobile data.

Go to "Settings" >"Cellular" > scroll down to check the apps you want to use are connected to cellular data or not. If not, tap it one by one and choose "WLAN & Cellular Data".

3. Reset Network Settings on iPhone/iPad

If you have made sure the Cellular Data is on but it still can't work, then you can try to reset network settings in iOS iPhone and iPad. This can often resolve cellular data failures and it's very simple.

Go to "Settings" > "General" > "Reset" > "Reset Network Settings" > enter the passcode to confirm the operation on the iPhone/iPad.

4. Restart or force restart your iPhone/iPad

After you have finished reset network settings, continue to restart your iPhone/iPad. And this works well for Cellular Data button is grayed out and can't be toggled on or off.

Restart iPhone/iPad: press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until an option to "slide to power off" appears and turn it on after about 15 seconds by pressing and hold the Sleep/Wake button

Force restart iPhone/iPad: For iPhone 6 and former devices: press and hold down the Home button and the wake/sleep button until Apple logo appears. For iPhone 7 and later devices: press the Home button and the volume down button.

5. Check for a Cellular Carrier Update

Cellular carrier providers will sometimes offer updates to the iPhone to increase compatibility with their network.

Go to "Settings" > "General" > "About" check to see if a cellular carrier settings updating is available.

6. Update to the latest iOS version on iPhone or iPad

If the cellular data not working in iOS 11 caused by the bugs in current iOS version, updating to the latest iOS 11 version may fix the problem.

Go to "Settings" > "General > "Software Update". If there is a new version available, download and install it on your iPhone or iPad.

7. Backup, factory reset & restore your iPhone/iPad

8. Downgrade iOS 11 to iOS 10

If you are unable to find a resolution with the above troubleshooting tips, the final way you can try is to downgrade iOS 11 to iOS 10/10.3.3. After the downgrading, restore your iPhone with an iOS 10 backup. Please keep in mind that the iOS 11 backup can't be restored to iPhone/iPad with iOS 10. Therefore, make sure you have an iOS 10 backup before downgrading, or you will lose all the device data.
